Update: Friday 29 May 2020

The Government has confirmed that schools will be able to open for more children from the start of next week (Monday 1 June 2020). The Government confirmed that schools can reopen for children in nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 in smaller class sizes. Schools can also start to offer face-to-face support to supplement remote education for pupils in Year 10 and Year 12 from June 15th.

Support for the children of key workers and vulnerable children will continue.

Chiltern Learning Trust primary and middle schools will be following Government guidelines over this, with wider re-opening - from June 3rd, and Headteachers of the individual schools will contact you with full details of this very gradual process.

Chiltern Learning Trust secondary schools will start some very small group academic meetings for Years 10 and 12 on Week Commencing June 15th - with exact details to be provided by the Headteachers.

We would like to reassure all parents that class sizes will be very small (below twelve, which is considerably below government recommendations). A whole variety of safety measures have been considered, and Headteachers have rearranged classrooms, sorted parental drop-off, made arrangements for social distancing, and provided parents with clear guidance of what to do if children or household members display symptoms.  Headteachers have also planned different timetables and separate arrangements for lunch and break times.

I would like to thank all staff, parents and pupils for their understanding and commitment to the school. I understand that everyone has very different levels of anxiety over the return of more pupils. I can assure you that our staff and Headteachers will continue to work tirelessly to reduce everyone’s concerns and help everyone gain confidence. We will proceed slowly and calmly.

Very best wishes
