District Athletics Championships
On Wednesday 5th June Cedars took sixty-five students, a Junior girls and boys team and an Inter Girls and boys team to compete in the South Beds Athletics Championships 2019 at Stockwood Park, Luton, against Vandyke, Manshead, Queensbury, All Saints and Priory. All the teams competed superbly in all events battling for every position and point possible. The students were a credit to the school. There were many outstanding performances and many of the students competing were selected to represent South Beds at the County Championships on Wednesday 12th June in Bedford. Cedars won the Inter and Junior boys team events and the girls teams came second. Cedars school were overall winners on the day. Well done all.
Bedfordshire Schools Athletics Championships
On Wednesday 12th June the South Beds Athletics Team competed at the County Championships at Bedford International Athletics Stadium. Cedars had a total of twenty-two students representing the South Beds team. Congratulations to all athletes who represented the school admirably in the very, very wet and difficult weather conditions.
The outstanding performance from the night was Daniel Coleman who won the Inter Boys Javelin with an English Schools qualifying throw of over 46m.
Cedars Festival of Sport 2019
On Wednesday 17th July those students who have opted to be involved in the Cedars festival of Sport (sports day) will be having a fun packed day playing various different team games for their houses. For those students who have selected either Netball, Football, Rounders, Frisbee or Basketball the timetable will be NY10 games P1 and P2, NY11 games P3 and P4. P5 will be a whole school event consisting of house relays and presentations. Since starting the event up again a few years ago the day has been a huge success. The PE department are all looking forward to the event and sure the students will all have a fabulous day competing for their house. Good luck all houses.
