Year 9 Options 2025

Choosing Key Stage 4 options is a very exciting time for students and a fantastic
opportunity to focus upon subjects that truly motivate and engage them. At
Cedars we offer a broad range of subjects and firmly believe in the importance
of a rich and diverse curriculum that allows all students to “achieve excellence”.

I do not know of another school that offers such a range of GCSE and Technical
Awards and keeping this offer is vital to allow our diverse and talented students
to maximise their success over the next two years. Students should choose
subjects they enjoy, that are assessed in ways that suit their individual strengths
and that link to their future plans. Of course, many fourteen year olds do not
have clear careers plans yet and with that in mind, it is important to keep as
many avenues open as possible.

The process begins this year with the Options assembly for students, before the
parents’ consultation evening and the Options Evening allows students and
parents opportunities to discuss progress and possible subject choices for next
year. Making the right choices is so important and all students will be given the
time to discuss their potential choices before finalising them.
