Ihezie foundation donations
Cedars donates unwanted text books to the Ihezie foundation When a subject moves onto a new syllabus set by the exam boards, we often need to update our text books. Many departments in the school were tidying up towards the end of term and found books that were no longer valid for our current syllabi. We were able to gather these together and loaded our minibus (twice!) to send a collection of unused text books to the Ihezie foundation so that others can make use of these.
In some schools in Africa, there is only one text book per 20 students and indeed we heard of one school that only had 2 text books in the whole school and so our unwanted text books were sent via the Ihezie foundation to Africa so that others can benefit from these books. Overall we sent 2.3 tonnes of books!
The photograph below shows just two of the several sixth formers who helped to load the minibus at Cedars and also the workers at the Ihezie foundation in Milton Keynes after they had unloaded some of the books
