Orinoco Help Week Clothing Donations

Orinoco house will be collecting clothes to donate to Oxfam to be used in disaster relief efforts as a result of Hurricane Irma; which caused widespread damage and changed the lives of many in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Clothing, shoes, bags, accessories and blanket donations will be passed to Oxfam who will use the proceeds from the sales of these items in rebuilding water infrastructure and sanitation. Guidance from Oxfam on what they can accept as donations states:

  • - Good quality, clean clothing and shoes
  • - Bags and accessories
  • - Knitted itemsand blankets

We have asked students to donate items they no longer need and to seek permission before they do so. We greatly appreciate any donations you would be able to make. Details of the Hurricane Irma appeal can be found here: https://www.oxfam.org/en/emergencies/hurricane-irma

We will be passing the donations to Oxfam at the end of Help Week and so we have set a deadline of Thursday 23 November for donations to be made so that we can deliver these on Friday 24 November.
